Dayabanti Saream is from a district of Nagpur city in India. She was struggling to provide the basic needs of her family and had no place to go until she heard about Empowered Poor’s micro-lending program for the poor. She applied for a loan to start a small vegetable business. After reviewing her desperate situation she was granted a loan. She used her loan to purchase a used pull cart to sell vegetables in her neighborhood and nearby villages. For the first time she began to generate small profits so she worked harder and longer hours to buy and sell more vegetables in several villages. As a result she was able to take care of her family and children. Her business continued to grow as she started to gain more and more customers. Little by little she started to improve her family’s living conditions, able to buy new clothes for her children, and afford to send them to school.
She is such an inspiration to so many in her community & encourages them to do the same for their family. Most of all she is extremely grateful to Empowered Poor for believing in her and giving her a chance of a lifetime.
